She collaborated with the global pageantry world to promote destination and this was phenomenal to watch. From being a banker to being a tourism pioneer. She has won multiple awards in this industry and this just goes to show how determined she is. As she takes a break - we watch her every day striving to complete her assignments as she has planted herself deep into studies during her downtime. She had a mini- stroke in 2024 and had choose to take a brake. As her family one would expect her to rest but NO not Mel. She is supporting community led projects, studying and still servicing private clients. If this is not leadership, I do not know what leadership is. She led in public and leads in private as a woman. We adore her as our mom and would love to celebrate her because she is instilling leadership qualities in us. I am an award winner because of her push. I am an innovator and a go getter at the tender age of 20 because of her. I have relocated 800km + from home to live because of her, I will be again relocating to Europe in 2026 and still because she said lead the pack my child. How beautiful that what she does with me she does with every young person she meets. Just yesterday she received a message from a young man who crossed her path, this young man is in a Business School program- he said "Hey Mel, Remember the project I told you about? Just wanted to update you on our progress we’ve managed to make over R130,000 in revenue in the past few weeks, and we’re currently the number one company leading among the groups in our team" This an 16 year old.
